Recently, the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Natural Resources stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that the third national land survey is expected to be completed by 2020. Currently, the focus of the entire third investigation has shifted to verification and rectification of discovered problems.

In October 2017, the third national land survey officially began. This is a survey of basic national conditions and national strength, and it is also a basic work related to the formulation of major national policies. The main task is to comprehensively investigate the country's land resources and utilization status, and systematically refine and improve the country's basic land data.

Wang Guanghua, deputy minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, member of the State Council’s Third National Land Survey Leading Group and Office Director, said that so far, a total of 2,873 county-level survey units across the country have completed field surveys and quality self-inspections, and 2,810 county-level survey results have been reported to the provincial level for provincial verification. Among them, 326 county-level survey results have passed provincial inspections, reported to the country, and are preparing for or are undergoing national-level verification.

Wang Guanghua said that from now until the end of September, the focus of the entire third adjustment work has shifted to verification and rectification of discovered problems. After September, a unified time-point update survey of the results of the three adjustments will be deployed, and the results of the three adjustments will be finalized by the first half of next year.
